Like many others, I have a page on Facebook. You can see it here – https://www.facebook.com/JohnMeePhotography. I set it up a few years ago to show off my photos – it’s mostly landscape pics – I don’t really put up any of my commercial works there – either way, those that visit the page have no interest in my commercial work – and that’s fine.
I don’t really take this Facebook page seriously anymore. Although I have amassed nearly 7000 followers there, I know that very few of those see any of my posts. And that’s just the way the Facebook algorithm works – it prioritises negativity, disruption, advertising and conspiracy over real world nonsense. The same could be said for any of the social spaces.

There was a time, years ago when there was engagement and interaction on posts there … and it was this that made maintaining a Facebook presence worthwhile and fun.
However, in the last few years engagement has waned … a lot. It’s not that it ever really served my business in any meaningful way – my business is not landscape photography – it’s mostly event, people, property and product. But it was nice to “meet” people from all over the world, including those from my hometown.
I’ve posted my AI artwork there in recent times but people are really conflicted about this – about the ownership, originality or creativity surrounding it. I don’t really want to get into that debate here but I will post about it again. And … you can buy my AI art on a tote bag or print. https://johnmeephotography.com/shop/
So, going forward I am going to change the way I post to my Facebook page. I will probably post more of my “real” work there and possibly some of my thoughts, opinions and other nonsense.

However for today, along with these words I posted the above photo that I took a few weeks ago. Like you all, I’m looking forward to the longer days of summer and any sunny weather they may bring. Have a great day and thanks for reading this far.
